Pitch a tent with me

Lately, I've been camping. Metaphorically speaking. Grab a tent and a flashlight- come. join me.

"Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statues! Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments." Ps. 119:5

I've been praying for steadfastness. I want my heart to be still. I want to laugh at the time to come. And I want to be faithful. I want to reflect the Savior. To walk in His ways. May my eyes be FIXED on His commandments-- studying them, meditating on them, praying through them.

"Let your eyes look directly forward and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or the left; turn your foot away from evil." Proverbs 4:25

Surely we will constantly have distractions throughout this lifetime. Things that demand our attention; our focus. We look this way and that way and there will always be a reason to not spend time with the LORD, or to push reasoning out of our minds to do what is easier or feels good. Oh may the objective truth rule my heart and not my subjective emotions! I hope to stop taking my emotional temperature, and instead ponder my ways- setting my eyes on Him...with a still, steadfast, faithful heart.

"Your steadfast love endures all the day."

All the day. Not some of the day. Not most of the day. ALL the day. And He relates to us according to His steadfast love, and not our performance! It's the gospel- right here.

"Your statues have been my songs in the house of my sojourning." Ps. 119:54

(I have to add an "s" after the word "house." There has been more than one in my sojourning!)

He is the same in every season. He never changes though I might see His goodness in different ways. He is bigger than sin-- and He uses our sin. He forces it to do good unto us. Praise His Name!

Hey JJ! It was great seeing you while you were in Orlando a few weeks ago! It’s always such a joy to talk to you, even if it’s only for a couple minutes. I’m always encouraged and provoked when I read your posts and see your heart glorify God and serve our Savior! Thanks for the steadfast example you are to me and many others!

Ciao Ciao Janelle! Come stai? (how are you?) We miss you and hope all is well. Life in Italy continues to be a challenge but God is good and we are learning the language and adjusting! Jeannette and the girls are going to Paris for Hannah's B-day (early b-day present) along with Alyssa and Arlene Romanacce and Claire Chin. I wish you could be there with them. But I told Bethany, Hannah and Alyssa that you may come and visit and they were very excited that you might come. Hope all is well and thanks for the encouraging words here! Ciao from the Italian Waltis
